Knutz shook his head as the doctor left. The Managorr seemed as all right as he ever was, and the disgruntled RAH-nold wasn't doing much to attract the security-squirrel's attention. His concerns lay elsewhere, and his twin's words still haunted him. He didn't like being left behind, or that Zephyr thought he would get in the way. The fact was, that as well as the pair worked as a team, the bond between their sparks could just as easily work against them. One felt the other's pain, and they often completed each other's sentences. So if Knutz screwed up in battle, it was often Zephyr who paid the price. Only when they were not in close proximity to one another did they pay the price for their own stumbles.

The battle they had fought with the Manches in the station quarters was a perfect example; the more Knutz got knocked around, the more Zephyr got hurt. Of course the reverse was true, but Knutz realized that about as much as either of the pair noticed the Maximal Angel being abducted during their battle. Even worse, neither had noted the departure of their guest Fireshard, the mute daughter of Scaleblade whom their CO Rotor had left them in charge of. The battle had moved to McDonald's and, after harsh words from Zephyr, he pursued the demons alone. Knutz felt something was dreadfully wrong. He raced to the Docking Bay...
