Hi Kellie. My daughter (20) married her high school sweetheart on January 3, 2004. They wanted to start a family immediately. They were not able to conceive on their own due to my daughter having multiple cysts on both ovaries. Her OB/GYN put her on Clomid. She got pregnant the first month. They concenved in April, 2004. Well, my daughter had a miserable pregnancy from conception. She didn't have morning sickness - she had ALL DAY/NIGHT sickness. She couldn't eat or drink anything. It would automatically come back up. She was hospitalized twice for dehydration. She even had to have IV fluids on a couple of doctor visits. She also had gestational diabetes. She managed to get to a point were we thought she was going to be okay and start enjoying her pregnancy. Well, she went into labor and lost her mucus plug (sorry to sound gross). We rushed her to the doctor's office They did an ultrasound on her. The doctor wouldn't even let her get up off of the ultrasound table. They called for an ambulance to take her to the Women's Hospital. They tried to stop the labor to no avail and her water broke. They wisked my daughter away to do an emergency C-Section. She gave birth to a beautiful boy (Hunter Reid Lindsey)at 27 weeks. He came exactly 3 months early. His due date was 1/14/05. He was born 10/15/04. He weighed in at birth 2 lbs, 6 oz. He lost down to 1 lb, 12 oz. He's absolutely beautiful. We don't know yet the extent of damage done to him yet. He's (of course) on life support. His lungs are not fully developed yet. I hurt for my daughter because she has not held her baby yet and he is a week old. As a mother, I've always been able to kiss it and make it all better. There is absolutley nothing I can do to make this better for her. I know there are other mother's out there with premature babies, but this is OUR baby. We don't know what caused the premature labor, but I'm concerned that maybe it was the Clomid. I can e-mail you a picture of him if you would like to see him. I listed my e-mail address.
