Subject: Interesting Poll to Vote In

In the area of 'Just Thought You'd Want To Know' - the 'American Family Association' (a conservative group sponsoring such websites as nogaymarriage.com) has put together a poll asking Americans their opinions on the topic of Gay marriage.

http://www.afa.net/petitions/marriagepoll.asp

Apparently they've been so surprised by the results, their plans to forward the poll to Congress have been put off indefinately.

Go figure.

[> I saw on CNN (as I was coming out) that Ohio has voted to not only ban gay marriages in their state, but not recognize gay unions from other states. Do we really need Ohio, anyway? -- Amy, 06:45:10 01/23/04 Fri

[> Funny you said that. They interviewed a married lesbian, and she said the effect of the law would be devastating to the economy because of that, and because business owners wouldn't want to be in Ohio -- Amy, 08:29:00 01/23/04 Fri

[> [> Its really rather surprising what effects just a few such letters can have. -- gumtree, 08:47:40 01/23/04 Fri

Congressmen and most large businesses use a statistical program that basically says "If you're getting 5 letters on a topic, it means that there's at least 20 more people out there who feel the same way - but won't bother to write."

Thus, a 'few' letters can be pretty scary.
