Well, I was looking through the arc guide and I think the episodes that WERE 8 - 10 could be made into 2.

Here's what we've got:

Buffy #08:

Dawn [Michelle Trachtenberg] takes drastic measures to prevent loss of life when Spike [James Marsters], blaming the slayer for feeling a conscience, targets Buffy [Sarah Michelle Gellar]. Meanwhile, Halfrek [Kali Rocha] provides a glimmer of hope for Anya's future. Also starring Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan and Emma Caulfield.

Buffy #09: Tapestry

The lives of Buffy [Sarah Michelle Gellar] and Dawn [Michelle Trachtenberg] are at risk when the power that created the separate personas begins to fade. While Spike [James Marsters] contemplates his previous actions, Willow [Alyson Hannigan] aids Xander [Nicholas Brendon] in his attempt to save Anya [Emma Caulfield]. Also starring Kali Rocha and Elizabeth Anne Allen.

Buffy #10:

While Anya [Emma Caulfield] questions her future, an innocent Dawn [Michelle Trachtenberg] is possessed by the dead when the inter-dimensional properties of the 'Key' come into effect. As Buffy [Sarah Michelle Gellar] strives to find a cure, matters become complicated when Dawn channels Tara's essence. Also starring Nicholas Brendon, Alyson Hannigan and James Marsters.

For a start we could make ep9 completely focus on Xander and Willow bringing Anya back - so all of the original ep8 and half of ep 9 could be the final episode 9.

Then we have Anya adjusting/Dawn and Buffy merging being in episode 10. We've got a 2-parter coming up for The Vessel story so I think if we keep these as more or less standalone we'll be okay.

Hopefully Matt'll agree when he gets back
