Subject: Week 9 Drop / Adds

I am substituting for the Treasurer who is attending the Bloomsburg - West Chester PA Football Slugfest.

This week will go down as the probably the highest average per transaction of all time as I think the specter of Captain "Steinbrenner" Orange has everyone digging deeper into their pockets for fear of losing their man.

T-Men drop Green Bay's Defense and add Osprey Cast-off Tennessee for a whopping $10. Highest ever for a defense, I'm sure.

In order not to get outbid again, the Osprey pushes the limit even further bidding $13 on QB Marques Tuiasosopo of Oakland. The Osprey drops Ladell Betts of Washington.

In both of the above cases, the teams were bidding against themselves as there were no other interested parties.

C.O. did make one move adding Receiver Steve Smith of Carolina for a measly $5, dropping one week lousy fill-in D San Fran.

And there was one trade that is awaiting approval from the Commissioner: Firecats send RB Garrison Hearst of SF to the Foo Fighters for WR Jerry Rice of Oakland. If approved, $6 would be added to the till.

So that's 4 transactions for $34 at an average of $8.50 per. Things are getting pretty steep this year.

Good Luck to everyone trying to catch the seemingly unstoppable D&Z Express.

The Scorekeeper
