Hi Robin and Saint Stephen,
Sigmund Freud was definitely right, especially in his book Totem and Taboo. The tribe chief and his accomplice the medicine man take a big piece of wood and they carve it into a totem. They declare it to be God, and why? So that they can control people and take advantage of them through that wooden God and get people to give them all the food and other things people make like jewelry. Everything works perfect for the tribe chief and his accomplice the medicine man until one day people figure out that their God (totem) is just a piece of wood carved by their oppressor the tribe chief and his accomplice the medicine man for only one purpose and that is to take advantage of the people. As soon as people figure that out about their totem, their God loses all of it�s magical power over them and even more important than that, their oppressors the tribe chief and his accomplice the medicine man who created this �wooden God� lose ALL their power, control and influence over the people.
Sigmund Freud is my spiritual brother and where he was interrupted I will continue, but on a global level.
