Hands reach from a guitar,
bleats wailed from a lamb.

Ever wonder why a child will scream?
You ever ponder why love�s a dream?
Ever watch as a rainbow falls?
You always come when your mother calls?

I�m the voice of the prophet,
the sound of water as it breaks.
I�m nails along the chalkboard,
wait as God forsakes?

Ever wonder when a bird can�t fly?
You ever question why bugs don�t cry?
Ever crack when the plaster casts?
You ever watch as a Book flies past?

I�m the steam in your steam train,
a candle that throws a fit.
Cracks along the damn break,
a windowsill that�s lit.

Ever think the Earth is dying?
You ever see a flying pig?
Ever watch smoke escape from water?
You ever let your hopes grow big?

I�m a shovel in the darkness,
the condemned in a pit.
I�m your watch that needs winding.
If you smell me, it smells just like shit.

Ever hear the wails of wonder,
You ever crush the pope at night?
Ever kill a gnat while eating,
You ever let a baby die?

Look into damaged moonlight,
gaze at shotgun skies.
Boots along the pavement,
listen to the death throw cries.
