I have a 686BASE and I am having a problem getting it started up. I connect to it through HyperTerminal and change the settings in the BIOS to be PS/2 in the INPUT and VGA in the OUTPUT. When saving the BIOS settings the unit froze and had to be restarted physically. The unit was connected to a monitor and a keyboard. When powered up, the display appears fine but the keyboard doesn't respond at all. It seems that the unit freezes because the cursor doesn't blink at the DOS prompt. I've tried connecting it back through a serial port but that doesn't work. I've checked all of the connections. The only thing I can think is that either the keyboard may not be compatible with the machine or somehow I have fried a circuit on the board. Anyone know what to do?
