I have compiled a module on linux 2.4.18 #1 SMP red hat and tryingto run it on 686CORE with 2.4.18 #4. It seems to be blowing out in copy_to_user() function.

what does the #1 or #4 symbol mean in the linux kernel version. Should it be the same for my driver to work?

Thanks
