We currently use the 586 Core with great success but would like to redesign older product which uses a PC104 stack.

As a start, what is the specification on the number of PC104 boards that can be connected to a base board which uses the 586 Core? Does the 586 Core include any additional buffering to the GPXX lines? I see that AMD uses buffers on their eval board. Please advise.

Thanks.
