Please, I need help installing & configuring IRDA on Compulab's 586 boards.
I have compiled a 2.4.23 kernel with irda support & the winbond module.
My modules.conf is
--- eth stuff ---
options w83977af_ir io=0x3f0 irq=5
alias irda0 w83977af_ir
alias tty-ldisc-11 irtty
alias char-major 161 ircomm-tty
---
and then I do
setserial /dev/ttyS3 uart none
irattach irda0 -s
modprobe irda0
modprobe irtty
modprobe ircomm-tty

Everything seems to work fine...but cat /var/proc/net/irda/discovery shows nothing, irdadump shows nothing, irdaping 0xffffffff returns nothing...
What am I missing?

I've built a small pcb with a TFDU4300-TT1 IRDA transceiver from VISHAY and another few components, and attached it to the ir connector on 586 base.
Can I test this piece of hardware with another already working software?

I only need to transfer some data using a serial protocol.

Thanks
