Marging, in all, totaly screwed me. Was trading with marging and it taketh away twice as fast. Obvious it is that the big $$ and market makers sleep together everynite, no staying out late. They know and coordinate there knowledge of who is where and with how much of there loan shark $$$. Interest is cheap, a good deal and tempting return, but they control the prices, they know exactly how far to drop them and for how long. It is always one more day and you could have been in the green. The only thing I use margin for now is to round off a figure when buying. Always less than 10% of total holdings is my die by rule now. For If I get a margin call with only 8% of my portfolio margined, I am ruined anyways. It was the heavy margin that took away all my gains, not the crash, for I traded with many latteral moves that would have kept me out of trouble. If anything, having used the margin has taught me how to position myself out of trouble, for it was crytical for survival.
