Madge.web Plans to Launch Madge Broadcast Network

WEXHAM SPRINGS, United Kingdom--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 19, 2000-- Madge.web(TM), a Europe-based provider of rich content applications and managed network services for finance and media companies and subsidiary of Madge Networks N.V. (Nasdaq:MADGF - news), plans to announce on June 8, 2000 the official opening of the Madge Broadcast Network(TM) (MBN), the first scalable Internet broadcast network across Europe with full media streaming capabilities.

MBN is an affiliate network to the Real Broadcast Network in the US, and features a broadcast operations (encoding) center in Europe that utilizes Real Network's technology.

Madge.web has successfully completed its final stages of installation and testing of MBN, which was built as part of the company's strategic alliance with Real Networks announced in December 1999.

The announcement on 8 June will contain full details of the MBN service offering.
