Former NORTEL Executive To Drive The Integration of BentleyTel and Data Exchange For the
MessagePilot(TM) Project and the Technology Evolution of the BentleyTel.Com Network

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 6, 2000-- Global TeleMedia International, Inc. (OTC: BB:
GTMI) announced today that the Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Ken Heffner, former Vice President
and General Manager of NORTEL, as Chief Technical Officer.

Prior to NORTEL, Mr. Heffner worked for such communications giants as US Telephone, Sprint, Satellite Business Systems
(IBM/Comsat) and ITT Corporate Communications Services - New York, where he managed the overall design and
deployment of the internal communications network including the first ``virtual private network'' (VPN) capabilities for all ITT
companies.

Mr. Heffner joined Northern Telecom, Ltd. (Nortel) in 1986 as product manager, DMS-250, Nortel's flagship inter-exchange
carrier switching platform. In 1989 he became General Manager, Carrier Networks, increased DMS-250 revenues from
approximately $90M and 45% market share in 1989 to $260M and 65% market share in 1994. In addition, Mr. Heffner
successfully launched two new product businesses: ServiceBuilder AIN products and MultiMedia Carrier Switch.

Until 1998 Ken was VP and General Manager of Multimedia Solutions, he was responsible for the market launch of new
telecom multimedia server platforms and speech recognition technologies. Also responsible for Internet Access switching
products as well as a new intelligent edge switch for emerging Internet Service Providers worldwide.

While at Nortel Mr. Heffner was also Vice President, Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) Products and Services where he
was responsible for the planning, development, and market introduction of the ServiceBuilder AIN product portfolio as well as
total P&L responsibility, including product management, development, and product support.

Mr. Heffner also played a key role in the merger in 1985 of US Telecom (a United Telecom company) and GTE Sprint. This
experience in mergers and acquisitions will be a key factor in the growth of the company.

In announcing the appointment, Jonathon Bentley-Stevens, President and Chief Executive Officer of Global TeleMedia, said,
