piss me off & i will bite off a chicken's head in your "honor". voodoo rules & is dangerously slick. The levee "parties" are fun & too much fun, aaaaaayyeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. You better like gumbo, jambalaya & etouffee. chanka chank music, zydeco, gets old real quick. there are 2 types, slow & fast. Once you have heard 1 of each, you have heard them all. and in cajun french, after you've heard the 1st verse of each, you are done. Serious beer drinking stuff. Crawfish are stupid except in gumbos, jambalya, etouffee, or fried. By themselves, boiled, it is totally stupid, sorry about shattering the myth. The festivals are a hoot. Shreveport is the biggest large town in the US, sort of a Mayberry, w/ city pop base w/ neighboring Bossier of 350,000. And actually, where I live, Shreveport, is more like east Texas & So. Ark. I am 20 minutes from both in the nothwest corner.

Actually, So La & No La hate eachother, but share the food & fun loves. If your IQ is higher than 3 you can't qualify to live in So La. hehe and inbreeding is a prerequiste for admission into the Cajun breed. Coonasses are just so good,................fried or boiled.

Other Christmas & New Year traditions, shooting guns off instead of firecrackers. Beer, I prefer cognac. But an ice cold Coors light is a staple around here & the kids like them too. They are too young for cognac 7 such. I always felt they should at least be 16 to drink anything hard. We have cock fights as another holiday tradition & dog fights. Spelling bees, but never have anyone disqualified cause finding a competent judge is impossible, so everybody wins & gets a beer. We play spin the bottle w/ our cousins. Catch an alligator & cook it ( more of a New Years deal). Pig roasts are extremely cool. And we love to just sit around, chew tobacco, drink beer & spit. Peeing outdoors is a have to. Can't muddy the carpet going in & out. Boiled catfish is a must on Christmas eve. Visiting the graveyard on News Year Eve is also a "have to" & celebrate w/ those who have gone on before. Oh yeah, muffys & po-boys rule!!!!!!!!

So ya see, we're all not that different & share the same christmas kinds of activities.
