RESEARCH ALERT - Intraware upgraded

NEW YORK, Jan 7 (Reuters) - Banc of America said on Friday it raised its rating on
Intraware Inc, which provides services for the selection and management of enterprise
software, to strong buy from buy.

-- Raised price target to $136 from $86.

-- After the market close on Thursday, the company reported third-quarter revenue 18 percent above the firm's forecast and
demonstrated significant margin expansion, resulting in a much lower EPS loss than expected.

-- Company reported a third-quarter loss of $0.19 a share compared with firm's estimate of a loss of $0.39 a share.

-- Raised fourth-quarter 2000 February EPS estimate to a loss of $0.32 from a previous forecast for a loss of $0.37 a share.
Raised fiscal 2001 forecast to an EPS loss of $1.02 compared with a previous estimate for a loss of $1.10.

-- Intraware shares fell 2-5/16 to 73-1/2.
