((OCC-Fudge. The last line of my last post was supposed to say "He would get back. Even if the trip killed him." It got cut off after trip...>_<))

___

» Briar had lost himself, withdrawn--if he hadn't simply fled inside, he would never have made it this far. Everything, from words to noises to pictures, was distanced, and he had only half the will to pay attention to it. It took agonizing moments for him to crawl but a few feet, and without realizing it, he'd stopped moving.

» He hardly noticed Huttser's company till the third time the wolf's tongue brushed over his face, and even then, it took an eternity for him to comprehend anything. He did not understand the words in his head, but for all the world, he did try.

Look...up...

» It took so much effort just to raise his chin the slightest, and blue (dyed) and black hair fell into his face. He had not the strength to push it away, but he struggled hard for possession of his body. It was as if a ravine separated his self and his physical being, and he could only begin brush his fingers across control.

» The gray-green eyes that momentarily found Huttsers were chillingly dull, the battle between life and death having torn the boy's spirit someplace farther in.

» The head tipped forward again, and rested in the dirt, heavy. It had taken so much effort for Briar to perform that one action that he was badly weakened now. His elbows bent so that he further rested on the ground, and he lacked the willpower to lift an arm to Huttser's neck as requested. With the temporary end of the exertion from crawling, the blood flow had slowed somewhat, but it dripped steadily, starting a sickening puddle between his arms.
