"Underwater? Breathing?

Impossible.

Is it possible for a man to be so transformed by a cursed blade that he recognize not even himself? For single-eyed creatures with bladed tentacles to torment a paradise run by small winged females? For a set of jeweled gauntlets to give the bearer chaotic abilities? For machines to think and feel and make me laugh so that I might be honored to call one such as Patrick a friend?

I have seen many things which might be categorized thusly, and yet are indeed real. there one minute and here the next! This dream, this vision, this NIGHTMARE....things to come, things that were, things that could be, things that might have been! Steady, o, steady on must I voyage. Underwater there lie murky cities, parts of Manar beyond the areas governed by the Fairy Queen, beyond the humanoids she protects, the descendants of a darker past. Could there be peace on Manar where even the taint of the WR@, of the dark history that led to their inception, never touched?

These cities are vast and though the beings swimming about are unclear to me, I sense a greatness and a tranquility; perhaps in these depths there was true light!

Look there! One shining brighter than the rest! A noble guardian and a protector! One some may have even deigned a deity! Hardly victim of corruption and....

...and I speak to soon. A great darkness engulfs this light, extinguishes it, taints it, warps it, molds it, subdues it and something about this darkness....I have seen this taint before and it sickens me.

Enough. Where am I to find peace on this deceptively peaceful world? Does it exist? Has the curse blinded me, or has it opened my eyes at long last....?"
