Hi here's an idea you could try...

Backcomb your hair gently and spray it all over with a strong-hold hairspray.
Take random sections of hair, about 4 sq cm in size, and twist them tightly from the base to the ends. Keep twisting each section until it coils back against the scalp, forming a knot.
Using hair grips, pin the twists securely against the head and let the ends work themselves loose to create a spiky effect. Contine until the whole head is covered with knots.
TIP: Cross the grips as this will give maximum support and hold.Gently tease and pick out the ends of the hair to create a spiky effect.
