Hi Donna, I just want to tell you about my experience with long/short hair. I have had long hair all of my life, down to my waste, and the decided about a year ago to just cut it. I had seen a picture in a magazine of a shoulder length hair and instantly wanted to cut my hair. I went in the next day and the stylist was shocked that I wanted to go that short, and asked if I'd rather go half way first, and I said I wanted it short!

I didn't even look down at my hair that was on the floor, and I didn't even think to ask to save it. I can't believe I didn't save any, but, it can grow back. When I left the salon I felt like my head weighed 20 pounds less! I waved my head side to side and it felt SO great! I felt FREE.

Free from my hair becomming my identity. I had had it all through high school and college, and just wanted a change. I'm so glad that I got it cut--it fits me well and is so easy to deal with in the morning. No more buying hair products every 2 weeks (esp shampoo and conditioner!!) and no more trying to figure out what to do with my boring long hair.

A month after that I wanted to go a lot shorter, and suffered several HORRIBLE hair cuts until I found a stylist with exactly what I wanted! She was really excited to do my hair, and has been my stylist since :)

Anyway, to make a long story short, I think that if you are having thoughts about cutting your hair shorter, you should! I don't think it will make you look older--it will totally change how you look thoug--some people didn't even recognize me!!! Cutting your hair also gives you something totally different to work with, and will make you feel like you've had a complete makeover :) I love it and don't think i'd ever go back to long hair!!

I'm including two pictures in this post--one of me taken last summer with long hair, and then the second of me after it was cut :) If these pictures do not show up, please go to http://www.geocities.com/sugarkitten_420/PICZ.html?998212562360
