I was given a gift certificate to a salon . . .I am not the salon type of person, but decided I would use it. I had my hair cut to chin length, which I adored, and requested a color as well. They told me I would need a consultation, and apparently they gave me on after my hair cut. . ."Monica, what do you think?" she replies, "number 6, 7, and. . . " This was my consultation.
I was quoted BallPARK figure of 90.00. OK, no big deal. More than 9.00 box color, but ok.
SO, I go in two days later, tell her what is in my hair old dye) we are thinking a light blonde would be good. . she tells me she thinks she can get it there, but maybe not too light, but we'll see. Four hours later, post NEON orange clown hair, two processes after, dye still on scalp and cheek(which she told me I was lucky to have after waht my hair DID look like). . I go upstairs to pay for my now DARKER hair.
"That will be 280.00". . .I seriously almost fainted. . .I only had 41 dollars left on my gift card and 180.00 in my pocket. I started crying like a moron, as I felt like such a shmuck, one woman started pushing a cotton ball into my head to try to get the dye off, and the other was requesting that I pay the rest in good faith.
WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?
Number one, the color EXPERT never warned me of the potential of my hari going neon, number two, she never explained that any of this processing was going to be an additional fee. . . I thought that they were fixing up their mistake. . .I would never have had them add LOW LIGHTS for an additional 120.00. HAD I KNOWN that they were above and beyond what they quoted me. . .
THEY KNEW I WAS NOT A TYPICAL SALON PERSON>
I feel so seriously taken advantage of. . .
I called the manager (the owners husband) and he pretty much tells me that it is not THIER job to inform me, that their TYPICAL client knows. . . .
I threw some analogies his way, doctor patient scenrios, he refused to see my point, and I got frustrated, left my number for his wife to call when she got back from buisness.
I AM WONDERING: Do I have to pay fo this????? Is there a hairdressing code of ethics? anything?ANyone?
