Subject: Racism on "The Creek"

I am an African-American fan of "Dawson's Creek." I go to school at Roosevelt High School in the Bronx, New York. By the way, we have one of the highest faculty turnover rates in the country. I am subjected to several harassing comments on a daily basis simply because I made reference to the show in sociology class.

Let me express my utter disgust, however, with the several underhanded references that the show has made recently towards African-Americans. In recent episodes, several of the characters, particularly Jack and Pacey, have made comments that I have found extremely offensive. Why is it that the show can be so good in tackling issues that matter, like homosexuality, in a positive light, while continuing to contribute to the plight of blacks in this country today. Whycome aren't there any blacks on the show for more than a minute?

I no longer watch the show. I am too sickened. Someone better have a good answer for this one.
