Mora said at his press conference after he was interviewed for the head coaching job that he wanted the team to be much more agressive on both defense and offense!!!(a total repudiation of Mariucchi).Knapp has made similar statements. They will get their wish under Dennis Erickson! It is obvious that Mooch held both Mora and Knapp back and had them run the offense and defense in his ultra conservative style(thank God he is now gone).
In addition to Erickson kicking their butts if they start to revert to that conservative style they learned under Moochie he has just hired two assistants, one on offense and one on defense that will have the title with the Niners as assistant HEAD coach. They have been offensive and defensive coordinators on Ericksons staffs before and they know each other very well. Mora and Knapp MAY be just temps until the new guys get up to speed. It was wise to keep Mora and Knapp because they know the personnel so well and it will make the transistion much smoother for Erickson and the players BUT come next year(or sooner if Mora or Knapp screw up) those two will probably be moving into their familar spots on Ericksons staff! If Mora and Knapp want to stay they had better impress Erickson with their agressiveness and had better forget all they learned from wrong way Moochie! TIM
