Subject: Big first quarter propels St. Ignatius over McKinley

If the legal age to drink is 21, Cleveland St. Ignatius picked a fine night to match that number. Backed up by a 1 yard touchdown run from running back Carter Welo, and two Brian Hoyer touchdown bullets to Ohio State signee Tony Gonzalez from 85 and 30 yards in a span of seven minutes, the formidable Wildcats opened up a 21-0 first quarter lead and cruised to a surprising easy triumph over Canton McKinley 42-6. The Bulldogs dipped to 2-5 with the setback. The Bulldogs mustered only 140 yards of offense while the Wildcats racked up 462 yards of offense. McKinley running back Ryan Brinson was held to 51 yards on 14 carries while Mike Shaffer was only an abysmal 4 of 15 for 89 yards. Ignatius quarterback Hoyer passed for 375 yards, Gonzalez had five catches for 175 yards, Welo had 89 yards rushing on the ground. The Wildcats scored 40+ on the red and black for the first time since the 1996 season when they tallied 47 on the scoreboard, and it is the second time in three years that the Bulldogs have been held to 6 points when playing Ignatius in Parma, dating back to 2000, a Wildcats 30-6 triumph. The Bulldogs now have been outscored 72-12 by the Wildcats the last two meetings at Parma's Byers Field. Things really get arduous for the Bulldogs as undefeated #1 Warren Harding High School invades Fawcett Stadium for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff Saturday. Last year, the Raiders turned back McKinley's challenge 57-9, a game in which ex-Warren running back Maurice Clarett rushed for, hear this...425 yards. Expect the Bulldogs to come out blazing their munitions early. GO BULLDOGS, CANTON MCKINLEY NEVER GIVES UP!!!!!!!

P.S. I know that McKinley has a record not conforming McKinley standards, but this game might be a sellout, so fans may want to get their tickets as early as possible
