In front of a rowdy crowd of 6,000 spectators, the Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish, without star LeBron James turned back the Canton McKinley Bulldogs, barely by a razor thin score of 63-62. The Bulldogs outscored St. V-M 26-15 in the fourth quarter and weree led by Stan Hall's 21 points and John Papacostas 16 points. The Bulldogs looked a lot better than what they looked in a 64-54 setback to archrival Massillon Friday night. Next for the Bulldogs is a date with the Clevland Villa Angela-St. Joseph Vikings at VA-SJ Friday night then the Bulldogs come home to battle Division II sectional-district champion Canton South Saturday at the Field House. GO BULLDOGS, CANTON MCKINLEY NEVER GIVES UP!!!!
Tidbits from the last two days:
-The Bulldogs have played in front of 108,000 fans in two days.
-Deion Sanders, Super Bowl champion with the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys was in attendance at the JAR.
-McKinley has lost two regular season games to Massillon in a row for the first time in a long time. The Tigers have outscored the Bulldogs 115-102 in the two regular season meetings.
Matt Creamer is 3-8 against McKinley, and Dave Hoover is 8-3 against Massillon.
