Copybush Chiron



Chiron is a bay tobiano/skewbald. He is an elegant middleweight pony of 142cms (approx 14 hands).

He has correct conformation and moves extravagantly with great impulsion. When graded as a three-year-old, he gained excellent marks in all sections with top scores for limbs and movement.

Registered and graded with British Piebald and Skewbald Association and Coloured Horse and Pony Society UK.

Performance

Chiron has been shown only a few times each season from the age of three. On his first outing, he was coloured champion and 1st Reserve Supreme at Ponies UK Wales. Since then Chiron has excelled consistently.
A few of his successes include :

* Champion coloured on FOUR occasions at Hickstead Derby Meeting.
* Qualified for Horse of the Year Show at first attempt (and maiden show outing under saddle).
* Best 14.2 and second pony Horse of the Year Show Wembley 2000.
* Three times Champion City of Swansea Show.
* Champion Pembrokeshire County.
* Twice Champion at United Counties Show and in final few for Templeton in-hand qualifier.
* Champion Midland Counties and in the final selection for Templeton qualifier.

Breeding Profile

Chirons Sire :

Trellech Courvoisier (National Pony Society Reg) 131.5cm is a prolific sire of top-class ponies in all disciplines. A supreme champion in his own right, he sired Copybush Catchphrase who won the supreme champion in-hand pony in Britain at the Horse of the Year show in 1994, then the Creber Challenge. Courvoisier's sire, Trellech Genesis is full brother to Trellech Giselle who also won the Creber equivalent in her day. Courvoisier traces to the best of British Riding Pony Breeding, including Bwlch Valentino, top Welsh lines and to some superb pony thoroughbreds such as Chantain, Ardencaple and Golden Cross.

Chiron's Dam :

Little Bouncer 150cm 3/4 TB was an outstanding competition pony who excelled at show jumping, cross country and WHP events. Currently well and sound in her late twenties, Little Bouncer has produced a remarkable clutch of stock.

Chiron's Siblings :

Copybush Chuckle (brown tobiano) Sire : Copybush Catchphrase. With us for his first four years. As a 4 and 5 year old won a fair number of Horse of the Year Show qualifiers. He was top pony at CHAPS International Show 2000 and 2001, his preliminary seasons under saddle. In 2001 he was supreme ridden coloured at CHAPS International ridden by Hayley Patterson and produced by Jerome Harforth.

Copybush Charlie Whisker (roan tobiano). Chiron's Full Brother. Here for his first five years. Shown only once, when we graded him at three years. He won his three classes and was young stock Champion at this CHAPS grading. Whisker has begun his dressage education with Ian Woodhead.

Chantilly Lace III (brown mare)
Chiron's full sister and one of the cornerstones of the Trellech Stud. She is the mother of the virtually unbeaten pony young stock T.Chantilly Dream and T.Chantilly Fayre.

Chiron has other siblings all of whom are correct, sound, quality ponies of substance.

Progeny

Demand exceeds supply for Chiron's offspring. So far he has been lightly used mainly on our own mares. We are currently aiming to expand our facilities in order to accommodate more visiting mares and to reach others with A.I.

One of his offspring, HOLLYLAND HEAVEN CAN WAIT out of Solva Cherie by Sollum, was shown only once as a yearling. Owned and shown by Paul and Sheila Harvey he was the only coloured present at the Arab Horse Society's Norfolk and Suffolk Young stock Show where he won his class and the overall championship.

Owners of our HOLLYLAND young stock by Chiron have been pleased with their easy natures.
