Pokemon's story is too repetitive. I used to be crazy about Pokemon about a year ago and practically know everything about it....(get it out!!! Its burns!! anyway..) The episodes are the same. Ash walks around, meets someone, they battle, team rocket comes, more battling, team rocket flies off, and then the episode is over.
What you say about Digimon characters being out of proportion is true. It was meant to be that way. The characters are supposed to take on a cutesy kid look. In fact, the animation is very good, especially in the movies. Its unique (I like how they animate the eyes ^^) They use the computer only in the digivolving, and the animators were NOT LAZY. They wanted to give it a cool look. In pokemon, the pokemon glow, then change. Its really kind of stupid. They gasp and go *blank* evolved into *blank*~!! Big deal. In fact, computer animation is much harder than drawing it all, and even then they have to use the computer anyway to put the frames together. The 2nd season was odd, however...and the 3rd season was just creepy and I was wierded out by the shapes of their heads...4th season is actually really good. But I hate the fact that Kouji and Koiji have very similar names...its really strange.
Really, I'd have to say that the worst anime ever created is Pokemon and Dragonball Z(I don't know why; I guess I'm not that much of a shounen fan..)
