I am the owner of a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT extended cab and have been involved in two accidents in which the airbags did not defloy. The first accident involved only my Ranger and myself in which I lost control of the truck and flew 15-20 feet over a fence and landed in a field and it felt like I had been shot out of a cannon. The airbag did not deploy which I felt was rather strange, but didn't pursue it. I only suffered minor injuries but this could have been much worse. I recently was involved in a front end collison at which time another driver failed to yield the right of way and I t-boned her on the passenger side, flipping her over on the side and she skidded across the road for some distance. The front end of my truck was damaged to the tune of $6000. The airbag did not deploy at this time either. I suffered extreme chest, shoulder, and neck injuries and I am still under a physician's care. I am beginning to wonder if there is an airbag in the truck. I was driving approximately 35-40 mph and not sure about the other driver so this was a powerful jolt. This time I am going to make further inquiry into this matter since I feel that if the airbag had worked properly that I might not be suffering as much. Comments are appreciated.>>
