Subject: not so confusing after all

In response to confused wondering how a director can have dresses, direct and coach. I have done all of the above at one time or another. If you think about it, if a child gets a dress from a director, what is the director going to do, go to the judges and say "hey, that little girl bought a dress from me last year, vote for her!"

Almost all directors at some point also end up starting off just "helping" kids with coaching tips. New (and even veteran)moms always ask a million questions on how to model, what to wear, make-up and hair ideas, etc. All things that coaches take care of. It only stands to reason that a Director can EASILY coach a child and again, not go to judges and tell them that since they gave advice to a child that the child should win.

The question shouldn't be confusion on a director multi-tasking, but making sure that pageants are a fairly run and judged event for all regardless of where a dress is bought or where experience is learned.
