*After a groggy after-sleep, I spring up on my cot and jump down. Hearing the rustling from Arietty's stall, I move silently but quickly towards the door. Peeking inside, I'm amazed to see Arietty lying in the straw, looking towards her hind end. I crane my neck to see around the horse. I notice she is dark grey from sweat. I open the stall door and walk getly over to her, patting her nose. Then I gasp. The baby is beautiful! Though its -her, to be exact- soft fluff is still dark and wet, I can clearly see her long stripe and low hind sock. She noses around and I move out of the way to let Arietty lick her. She stands up and the cord brakes. I step out of the stall so as not to disturn them. I call the vet on my cell phone, telling her the foal looks ok and giving her the full details. I sigh and watch as the filly attempts to stand. She wobbles and falls on her face. And again. Several times she tries until she finally manages to balance her body over her long legs. Soon, she begins to suckle. I watch for a while to make sure she is ok.*
