I think pills ARE one of the best methods, but you have to use the
RIGHT pills and not just anything that happens to be convenient!!
Don’t bother with OTC stuff; it will only cause liver damage or
worst problems than death.

Propoxyphene (Deprancol) has been responsible for more overdose deaths
than any other single drug.

You are strongly advised to use antiemtics such as Metoclopromide to
prevent vomiting, or some anti-vomiting OTC drugs found at your
favorite local pharmacy. You might try diphenhydromine. It's found in
several over the counter products. One you've probably heard of is

The most effective, "100% guaranteed" method of suicide available is
to place a 12-gauge shotgun with .00 pellets in your mouth. Not to be
gross, but such a shot will generally result in a lost head.
Unfortunately, it is also the most disgusting way to die. I myself
have opted to use a .410 shotgun with .4 pellets shot into my heart.
This will likely cause massive damage to my heart without the
explosive grossness that a larger gauge would leave.

not here to do your legwork for you. It's more appropriate to ask
questions that aren't readily available by reading the FAQ's or points
that isn’t covered in those answers, or not found thru a Google
search.

Methods to Avoid
� Oleander - It is commonly claimed that a single leaf will kill an
adult. False. It's an urban legend. People have become ill, but
recovered completely, after eating a handful of leaves. Nor is it true
that death is "instant" or "painless".
� Paracetamol / Tylenol/ Acetaminophen OD - Certainly fatal eventually
if you take enough, but it's an agonizing death by liver failure that
takes days or weeks. There are plenty of people who have tried this
method and failed, and they all strongly recommend against it. Don't
use aspirin either.
� Anti-depressant OD - It is not a recommended method because it is
slow and very unpleasant, and because different people respond
differently to it, the quantity required to kill you is very variable.
The latter is true for all poisons/pills, of course. You don't seem to
have a chance to kill yourself with SSRIs, except having a ton of them
drop on your head. However, the older TCA’s (Amitriptyline &
siblings) can certainly kill you, which are why they aren't usually
prescribed to suicidal patients.
� Sleeping Pills - It is almost impossible to kill yourself with an
overdose of over-the-counter sleeping pills. This is true even if you
take them with alcohol. In fact, beyond a certain dose, they are more
likely to keep you awake than put you to sleep. Prescription
barbiturates are the only type of sleeping pill that will kill you -
and these are very difficult to obtain these days.
� Cutting across the wrists - Is very unlikely to work. Even the
recommended method of cutting down both wrists, along the arteries, in
a warm bath, has a very high failure rate. Over 98% of cutting
suicides fail.
� Injecting Air into your veins - Is very unlikely to kill you unless
you inject an enormous quantity (100s of ml). The most likely outcome
is paralysis. This method is not painless either - it is extremely
painful.
� Red-back/black widow/katipo spider - The bite is extremely painful,
but the chance of death is very small, even without treatment. If
death does occur, it will take approximately 1 week.
� Shotgun under the chin pointing upwards - People have done this and
only taken their faces off. A shotgun is a wonderfully effective
method, but must be aimed where it will kill - the brain stem or
heart.
� Revolver to the temple - While this would probably work with a heavy
caliber firearm, it is uncertain and generally regarded as a good way
to give yourself a lobotomy.
� Anything taken from Poor Man's James Bond, the Anarchist Cookbook
etc. etc. should be treated with extreme suspicion. These sources
wildly exaggerate the effectiveness of most of techniques they
describe.
� Hemlock Plant. Sure, it will kill you. It will be slow, you will be
paralyzed and it will be painful.
� Insulin. A massive overdose of insulin is a poor way to attempt
suicide. The result is more often significant brain damage, including
a vegetative state, rather than death. The Hemlock Society, for
example, specifically excludes insulin overdose from their recommended
procedures.
� Rat Poison. It makes you bleed from every orifice you can think
of...a lot of rat poisons work by dehydrating the rat and giving it
kidney failure. It would take massive amounts for this to be effective
in humans...gives you a raging thirst and is generally would be a
horrible way to die. It usually takes a long time of repeated
exposure.
� Caffeine. Good god, imagine the feeling of your heart going nuts
like that...
� Tobacco. If you’re thinking about the OD'ing on nicotine
method, it's really simple (but probably not painless). Anyway just go
buy a regular bag of "Redman", or any other kind of "chew" (not
snuff), and soak it about 4 cups of water over night (maybe less, but
some of it will evaporate). The next day, take the chew out, give it a
good squeeze (save the water, duh!), and there you have it, that water
should have enough nicotine in it to kill a horse……..
� Petrol. Q: What about gasoline? If I inject myself with enough will
it kill? A: What are you? A sadist? ……...Don’t do
it.
� You do NOT want to overdose on amphetamines (speed!) unless you are
a Masochist!
