Sometimes I cry from self-induced madness
Is this a first-impression or a last chance
My glass slippers became glas shards
The bullies were chasing me, I ran home
Looked for solace at the bottom of a massive grave
Dying is ugly, it's prettier to pass away
That's the type of thing rappers say
The kind of quote that makes a poet cringe
Spelling your surname in a puff of smoke
I usually pick a hard-ass to be the butt off my jokes
Artistic asphyxia, my eyes choke on brushstrokes
I've heard that its just the way love goes
Let's just hope it comes back around

Yeah, maybe it's the crossroads I'm standing at
Unprepared, I blink when the cameras flash
All the King's people and all the King's cameramen
Tried to pin him down but he's elusive & transient
Such a zany dance his existence became
Backstabbers playing their political games.
