Subject: Writer Profile/Critique: Jamila Gomez

Jamila Gomez:
Mila G is the writer I've collaborated with most in this forum. I've grown fond of the idea of her being my writing-partner. There's a piece we're working on now. I titled it, "Portals of Prose".
I think the her writing is very solid. I feel that her overall style leans more toward prose.
I feel that Jamila could expand her subject matter. Her use of rhymescheme and metaphor is above-average. There's subtle use of extended metaphor in certan parts of her poems. I've told her this before, I think what she handles best in her writing is the use of paradox.
This intrigues me because most writers are more focused
on descriptiveness and metaphor.
A lot of Mila's poetry is about Love, which is normal but stands out to me because my musings on love are rarely as personal as hers are.
I think that maybe we collaborate so often because I'm attracted to the realism she portrays in her writing. Also, her work is very sensual and she often writes in allegory or metaphor about the physical act of lovemaking.
I feel that female writers are taught or maybe just subconsciously feel that they shouldn't write about physical love.
