Shoot shoot shoot. Shoot the ships.

The end.

Yep, that's it, pretty much.

I used to love this game in the arcades, but then, I was pretty young...it'd probably bore the pants off me today. All you do is shoot ships and try to beat your high score (the games are timed), and that's it, there's no way to die, the only adversary you have is a ship that pops up from time to time from the top middle part of a trench that you're positioned over, and if you don't hit him quick enough, 800 points are subtracted from your score. Big deal.

As far as an arcade port goes, this deserves a 9 out of 10, deducting a point due to the smaller screen, and it's easier to hit everything. Two players at once sucks, due to an added grinding noise that is heard (? A glitch in the program?). I bought this due to loving the original, was bored with it within an hour (and having a fellow Vectrex alumni drop by to see if having a second player onboard would help add to the fun factor, which it didn't), and returned it, which I was lucky that I was allowed to do so (ok, so I lied and said the game didn't work :D [Actually I took the cartridge apart and flipped the chip over, which, yeah, it didn't work then :D Like I said, I was young [[and fairly stupid!]]]).
