Subject: Three cubs play in the grass.>>

They are cubs of a leoperd/cheata mix and a panther. The eldest looks out for the tell-tale sign of their mom coming for food. Out of the corner of his eye he sees a cougar. In fear he mews loudly. The other two start screaming as well as it aproches. The mother of the cubs leaps from the forest, knowing a cougar had killed her mate. The eldest female cub tries to silence her big brother and little sister wile the two adults face. The cougar is a strongly built female that hasn't eaten for days and has cubs to feed herself. The mom roars in warning to the cougaress but she doesn't heed the warning and dashes for the cubs. The smaller mom atcks the cougar but the cougaress snaps her neck in a split second. A male cougar charges from the mountains roaring in anger at what had just occered. He leaps from a cliff face and lands all most on top of the older and larger female. He latches on with his claws and tares at her neck. Once the cougeress falls, dead, he abandens her and races to the cubs. The cougar purrs encouragingly and covers the cubs protectivly. Taking them as his own. The cubs accept him, knowing he is their only hope now.
