wooooo, monday men's final at wimbledon and it is a shocker with three times runner up, goran ivanisevic, taking the title in an 8 - 6 final set thriller. all the sympathy to pat rafter the no 3 seed, who entered the final by beating the no 2 seed - andre agassi in 5 sets. it is the 2nd yr for pat to lose in the final and this is probably the last yr of wimbledon for him.

it is however a shocker that the world ranked 125 ivanisevic to be given a wild card by the all england club to defeat the 2 british hopes, then to progress to win the championship. all the congratulations.

the lady's final was rather simple with venus williams defeating justine henin in 3 sets, which should truly ve been a 2 set winner. the defending champion did however managed to held off the challenger.

the mixed double sees the slovakian teenager, 18-yr old daniela hantuchova and friedel, winning in a 3 set match to claim the title. though the slovakian was defeated by venus williams in the 2R of the single in straight sets, she did managed to get her hands onto a wimbledon title.

now that wimbledon 2001 has finally finished, we (huw and i) hope that u ve enjoyed the play and twists in this yr's very interesting games. we shall miss the games and will be back next yr in 50 weeks to share the moments with u. c u next yr all at wimbledon 2002 and we wish the best to all the players out there.

thank you
