"We show mercy with the hope that those who should be punished will see the error of their ways," snapped a teenage boy, on the opposite side of the table. He was lazily slumped back in his chair, and glancing at the man who had just spoken.

"What have these people done? They killed our brothers and sisters! They mock the way that we choose, never opening their mind to the truth."

He pauses, and leans foward.

"Yeah, so our code says to treat them with mercy. But doesn't it also say that those of the closed mind are without hope? And have they treated us with mercy? No."

An image flashed through the young mans mind, of his girlfriend, of wolves. He ignored it, and leaned foward over the table.

"I don't claim to like it. But if we don't fight back, what's to stop them from doing it over and over and over again?"
