It feels wierd being the lead mare, even if it's only temporary! *she thinks uneasily, flinching as the scars from her battle with the demon-goat stretch over her glossy coat as she jogs easily around Bluegrass Hill, her creamy mane and tail floating behind her. She spooks as a bird soars low overhead and then rears nervously, forehooves pawing the warm June air. She lands and then giggles to herself, realizing that it's not just the fact of being temporary lead mare that's working her up--the June heat is here! She giggles again and glances around, noticing some of the other mares bucking and prancing too. She turns her head and nickers to Rainy and Sun Leader, calling them for lunch. They trot up and she stretches out a hind leg slightly so they can reach the teats. Sun Leader sticks his nose readily under her and sucks, breathing softly on her smooth, round, full udder, but Rainy hangs back, her large eyes worried in her face--which is dished slightly like Ganesh's, for he was her father. She watches her half-brother drinking and flinches.* What's wrong, sweety? *Sunny asks.* I dunno, *Rainy mutters.* You sure? *her mother asks worriedly.* Positive, *the filly sighs and wanders off. She was a yearling now, and although she was really to old to be suckled by her mother, she did know that horses in the wild suckled their foals longer then those who's foals were weaned by humans. Rainy stops and blows her long, creamy forelock off her attractively dished face, shivering her white-speckled-with-little-brown-spots-coat over her muscles and flicking her snow-white tail. She watches her half-brother Sun Leader herding their mother, already starting to act like a grown stallion, although he was only six months old. She sighs, lonely, and lowers her elegantly sculpted head to graze.* Ganesh! Papa! *A diamond-like tear rolls down her pearly cheek.*
