Kel shifted into postion with her lance held perfectly still. She could feel by the way she was positioned that she would hit the target dead on. In the next second, there was impact. Kel heaved and popped the other knight out of thier saddle and sent them flying. Keladry wheeled Peachblossom around and took her helmet off. Dismounting, she went to help the other knight up. It was Lady Alanna.
Kel was surprised. She was rushing that morning and didnt check the lists. So she had no idea who her opponent was.
"Know I know why Raul could afford to marry Buri. He raised money on you when you were his squire,"laughed Alanna.
" I don't quite think that was how he managed to get Buri to marry him," Kel replied.
" Anyway, good jousting, Lady Knight," Alanna said, knodding at Kel's shield. It had a distaff border, the mark of a lady knight. Not even alanna had one.

A few days later, Kel met Cleon in the market of Corus. They had both been ordered to report to the borders to help with the war against the Scanrans. They wanted to spend a day together since they didnt know if they would be stationed near each other.They spent the day walking around and visting such shops as Raven's Armory. Just before they needed to return to the palace, Cleon took Clare to a quiet place near a tree.
" Kel, I've talked to my mother. She wasnt happy but.....she didnt say know either. Oh, my sunrise, wont you marry me?" began Cleon.
"I cant...I've worked so hard to become a knight. I cant give it up know. Oh i know you say that i can still do my duty as a knight, but , eventually, you know i'll have to just settle down as your life, not Sir Keladry," Kel interupted.
" No you wont , Kel. Really..."Cleon started to say, but Kel ran away. She lept over a hedge while Cleon tried to follow. It was futile, because his bulky size didnt allow him to fit through narrow spaces, but Cleon knew he'd keep searching.
