Silver coat flashed in silky snatches between the ancient trees, marking his slow progress. Weariness settled about him, dark orbs tired and welling with sadness. Muscles slid smoothly upon shoulders and hocks as tassles flew like a river of velvet in the spring breeze. Thoughts whirled about in the abysm of his strong mind. Where was his lead mare? What was he doing, yet again, alone? Lost in his memories, he wandered unnoted closer and closer to the beautiful femme. Suddenly, triangular audatives flickered and rose-line nares flared. Senses having been dulled by emorion, thoroughbred stallion only now realised the vixen's presence. Curiosity registered as long limbs pressed silently forth. Shadows sped across his broad back and danced with his capering tail. Polished obsidian orbs sparked as they caught sight of the lone femme and her two foals.
