Since Eric's message board has been permanently shut down, I'd thought I'd post this message again, In case nobody saw it the first time ...

As many of you know, John Webber (AKA "Papa Bear") has been out of commission since April 29, 2001. At the time, nobody knew the reason. Yesterday, after going to his web page (July 5, 2001), I found out why.

The company that's hosting his web page, Homestead.com, has ceased being someplace where people can have free web pages. In short, they've been trying to force everybody to pay HUGE amounts of money just to keep their sites up, and John refuses to take part in it. Why? He thinks we'd be turned off by that kind of thing. So, until further notice, John Webber will have no web page.

I'm wondering: Are you guys turned off by those ads? David's web page and this forum have them, and they don't bother me. If you feel the same way, I'd suggest you e-mail John and tell him. The web wouldn't be the same without him.
