Don't say I didn't warn you. I know y'all are tired of my bitching about this guy at work, but it seems my "real friends" are never around for me when I need 'em, so I gotta let this out somehow.
Anyway, his shameless ass-kissing finally paid off for him. They had a full time opening come up and within two hours of my hearing about, they already had it filled. Guess who? HIM!!!! THE BASTARD GOT THE JOB BEFORE I EVEN HAD A CHANCE TO APPLY FOR IT!!! I know what you're gonna say, same thing some of my other "friends" would say, if they were actually there for me. "Well, it's your own fault, you had two hours, that was plenty of time to get off your ass and talk to the boss, blah, blah, blah, blah". Well, big deal. The point is, this guy's been nothing but a thorn in my side since he started. Oh, and to add insult to injury, guess what they're gonna do? Thery're going back to having me fill in on his shift on weekends. Which means I'll be back to doing double shifts on the weekend, which is what they always do in between hiring new people, like I'm just a "utility" player or something, remaining part-time with absolutely nothing to show for it. Oh, but this time "you can do it this way as long as you want", they said, as if they're giving me a consolation prize or something. Letting me do it on "my" terms. They really mean, "we'll do it this way until we don't need you to do it anymore, until we find someone new, then will put you back down to your regular shift. And when this new person doesn't work, we'll have you back on the double shift after three weeks until we find ANOTHER". I swear, if there was ever a reason to quit, this is it. Not that I mind the extra hours,or the money, but this is getting ridiculous. If I didn't need a job, I'd be gone. I've been there 1.5 years, nothing. This guy's been there for 4 months, didn't even work one of those weekends, he gets the promotion. Oh boy, there better be a referee and/or ambulance present, and/or cop to take me to jail when I see him this weekend.
