He remains motionless, but his lip curls a little.
"You think I don't care?" he states quietly, a soft snarl at the edge of his voice. "Of course I do. I am not like you, equus. It is not within my capability to grieve as you yourself might. I am sorry that this makes me seems callous, and believe me, I do not want to hurt you nor anyone else. But I cannot change my parentage." A slight gleam passes across his dark, dark eyes. "The dark ones do not care much for sentimentality." His ears flicker and his temper, though it has not risen much, dies away again. "I do accept that it is because of me that your sister is dead, and I shall carry that knowledge till the end of my days. You have right to hate me."
