...Most had forgotten she was there, perhaps it was because she had gone. Walking up behind Martin, she rested an ivory hand on his shoulder, and closed her hazel eyes. Crimson fire, invisible to anyone but her, flowed into him from her. "Better?" she asked in her silky voice, breaking the connection.
