Look Who's 10!!!


February 24th, 1996, at 6:30pm
was the best day of your father’s and my life.
That was the day we were blessed with you
- our beautiful baby girl -
our very own precious angel.

As I've watched you grow from a tiny 5 pound baby
to a beautiful young lady, you've taught me so much
more than I could ever hope to teach you.

I know this last year has been so difficult for you with
everything going on in our family, with your daddy breaking
his leg, his job issues, our home catching on fire, your
nana’s heart attack, and then me breaking my back in the
wreck - and that’s just skimming the top of our bad luck -
but YOU have kept us all going!

I know we are supposed to be your rock, but Andi, you’ve
truly been our rock, our sanity in a sometimes crazy world.
I thank God every day for you, for your knack to see the
good in everything, for your ability to keep us grounded.

Your selflessness has been undeniable, unending, and at times so
heart-wrenching. From your letter to Santa asking “ONLY for your
mommy to get better” to your school report on “Any Gift You Could
Give - being magic fairy dust to make your mommy better,” you've
taught me that love does have enormous healing power.

Your selflessness hasn’t stopped there, like the days when you’re
still having to get up early in the morning for school while I lay in
bed resting. Finally dragging myself out of bed to find all the “happy
notes” you leave me helps my pain seem a little less. You’ve
taught this whole family that NOTHING can bring us down so
long as we have family that surrounds and loves us.

You’ve taught me that while sometimes I allow my feelings to be
hurt over what other people say, as long as I have your words of
inspiration, I will be okay. You’ve taught me that while other
people’s actions can sometimes hurt me, as long as you are
there with your gestures of love, I will be okay. You’ve taught
me that when I think the physical pain is too much to bare, as
long as you are there with your hugs, I will be okay. You’ve
taught me that when I think things will never get better,
as long as I have your love, I will be okay.

You’re growing up so fast that sometimes it hurts,
but I couldn’t be more proud of the beautiful young
lady you’re growing into and not just on the outside,
but on the inside where true beauty is measured.

So today is your day and I want the world to know how
much YOU deserve for all of your dreams to come true!!!

We love you Andi-Pandi and wish you the Happiest of Birthdays!
Finally, you’ve hit those DOUBLE DIGITS!!
