Xander and Drusilla are both moving towards self-knowledge or self-awareness. They say madness can see the truth for what it really is. (Like Joyce seeing Dawn for what she was and the other insane people). If Xander becomes a vampire with the ability to prophecy AND is insane, like Drusilla, he would be an innocent becoming evil for the better good?
