I think Spike had a hand in the eggs business, for sure (if only holding them for the Doctor). But I also think Riley/Sam weren't wholesome blossoms of truth. That is, Sam says, "hatching's not the problem" when, hello! it sort of is the whole problem. Sure, she just assumed that the eggs were being properly cared for, but WHY did she make that assumption to the degree that it's not even a concern? Even if they figured the Doctor was smarter than that, why do they think the Suvolte went to the right place to lay the eggs? Something real fishy with that.

Moreover, a definite point of interest in AYW is that human nations are trying to buy/use/abuse demons to control other humans. I feel an eventual moral anvil being dropped here, something about humans being evil in packs, or it all being about the power.

It's unlikely that the blast in Spike's crypt did anything to change the events of the season, though -- no reason for invisible hands here.
