So not only do you need to know which vision tells their fate, but from which set of PTBs the vision came? (Which Moon to set their course, maybe?)

I suppose if you know who sent you the vision, you can opt out with less of a problem... for example, with the Shanshu, we don't know the origin of the Aberjahn (sp?) scrolls, but I think it's being assumed that they're from the "Good PTBs" (the ancients?), promising Angel that he'll be rewarded eventually if he fights for them. (**eyes rolling out of head now; let me run get my eyes back** LOL!)

Buffy's opted out of a LOT of stuff, from all PTBs, I think. If we link the Knights/Byz with Good PTB, and Dawn with Chaos, then Buffy worked in favor of the Bad PTB (against Good by not destroying the Key; and against Chaos by not letting Glory reign which is in favor of the Bad PTB that like an ordered evil) in S5.

On the other hand, some stuff seems immutable -- stuff like who you are. That stuff isn't "prophesied" as much as it is seen by seers. (Like the crazies seeing that Dawn isn't really there is not the same as a prophecy saying that Dawn will spontaneously combust. One is a gift of sight, the other could be manipulation entirely.)

I'm assuming, of course, that the "gift of sight" shows a glimpse of reality, regardless of which PTB gives the gift.
