Hey GabbyJr,
I want you to know that your words of fear and anxiety are heartfelt and realistic. Your sentiments are mirrored across the world today. I know that the war on terrorism will lead to more tragedy of some kind but this is really and truly a time for us to reflect and assess the importance of our lives and the freedoms that we have often taken for granted.
All the things that we have enjoyed in the past few months in relation to our presence and exposure to the Xena community is something that would not be possible if not for our freedoms. We are a peace loving people in this community and it is inherent for us to reach for peaceful possibilties. That is the most natural instinct for us. But sometimes that instinct will have no effect on those who have no concept or relation to the same instinct. We could sit and debate the merits of this and find that we have some on each side of the argument.
There is no easy answer as to why we have to do what we have to do. But know this, there is everything being done to ensure that all involved in this 'war' are as safe as possible. I have begun work as a resource coordinator attached to the Homeland Security Agency and it is just awesome to see all the precautions being taken to keep everyone including you, safe from any harm during this time. There is also a stategic effort to ensure that this is continued as long as necessary and then maintained. The people who are being called up to work on this overall effort are proud and honored to be able to do something to ensure a safe world for everyone we can. I hope that this will give you some comfort although I know that there is nothing I or anyone else can say to take your fear away. I am just honored that you pray for me. I look forward to seeing you sometime in the future because we will.
