So, this morning I'm in the drive-thru for Snatch-In-The-Box (waiting to get my Breakfast Jack - yummy) and this older man comes up to my window asking for 40 cents to make a phone call... I immediately say "no", but then I started to rethink it, because it's only 40 cents right? So just as I'm about to call back the old man, I see him buy a newspaper!!! The bastard HAD money! I hate that, just when you are about to do something nice for a bum, they continue to perpetuate a stereotype, and spend their money on something other than what they said they "needed" the money for. :-P

on another note, but sorta the same vibe, i too, was at jack in the box waiting for my breakdfast jack this morning (late as hell to work but DAMN the extra sleep was great) and the girl at the drive through was a straight up CUNT on the intercom, really giving me an attitude...and when she gave me my food i looked her in the eye and said "thank you so much, i hope you have a great day" and as i drove off, i could see the sour look on her face change and she smiled & said "thanks". Ok, when I worked off of Wilshire / Figueroa i used to see this bum EVERY day at the 110/Wilshire exit... so i would give him extra change if i had it.... so about two months into this, during lunchtime @ 7th st. Marketplace in LA i see the dude in Birkenstocks, shorts, straw hat, bag of clothes from Macy's, holding his chick's hand...... they were obviously NOT homeless... anyway, i was scammed and vowed never to give shit to anyone again................ But I caved in @ Alameda/101 (where the prison is, across from Wake'nBake spot) i was @ the Mobile station getting air in my tires and this dude walks up to me with papers in his hand w/ buss times and schedule, he told me he just got out of jail and only needed $1.00 to catch the buss home... seemed legit so i gave him the $ then went to get gass... as i'm filling up I hear the same story being told to the guy directly across the pump from me........ fuck liars, fuck bums..... Back when I lived in OC, there was a bum who hung out on the bus bench on ball road at Rio Vista. I used to give him leftover pizza every week when I'd go to pick my boyfriend up on saturday nites. After about 2 months of slices of tomato-basil and other gourmet delecables, the hobo had the nerve to ask if I'd bring him a salad.
